Chapter 5I will accept what I will cause
The next morning she woke up, alongside her parents. She remained friendly, so they didn’t get suspicious, why she was happy.
“Morning” she greeted them, as she sat at the table.
“Morning” her father mumbled, reading the paper.
“Morning, honey. Did you slept well?” her mother asked.
“Kinda, yes” (Name) said. She grabbed the bread and the butter.
“Oh. Before I forgot” her mother started. “We are going on a vacation. For 2 weeks” (Name) dropped her knife.
“We are going what now? For how long?”
“Vacation. 2 weeks” her father said, not looking up from his paper.
“I think we deserve that, after what happened” her father said.
“It will be relaxing” her mother said.
“And why do I know this now? And not like 3 days ago, or so”
“Well…we wanted it to be a surprise for you”
“You hit your head well and survived a Creeper explosion. The doctor told us it will do good on you”
“What about the bakery?” Her father looked at his daughter.
“Since when do you care about that?” (Name) was silent. She didn’t, but 2 weeks.
“And when do we leave?” she asked, ignoring her father.
“Tonight. We have a long road ahead of us. You can pack after lunch” And gone was her happiness. How is she gonna warn Herobrine about this if they leave tonight. She won’t see him for 2 weeks and vice versa. (Name) ate in silent. After breakfast, she stood up and went to her friend’s home. Later that day ‘till evening, (Name) and her parents started to pack their stuff for 2 weeks of vacation. (Name) didn’t liked it and wanted to stay home. She even said she didn’t need it, but her parents persisted.
“(Name)! We’re going!” (Name) didn’t yell back, but left her room and walked downstairs. Before she reached the door, she realized maybe the Enderman could warn him.
“I forgot something. I’ll be right back” she said and ran back up.
“Hurry up. We don’t wanne be late” her mother said. (Name) ran into her room and closed it. From a book in her bookshelf, she grabbed the pearl.
“Enderman! I need you!” she said. An Enderman immediately appeared before her.
“Can you warn Herobrine? I need to go one a vacation for 2 weeks with my parents. Say to him I’ll come the night after I come back. Say him I’m sorry as well, but I just know about this, this morning” The Enderman looked at her, confused, but nodded and said he will bring the message. “Thanks” (Name) said.
“I’m coming” (Name) smiled at the Enderman, placed the pearl back in the book and left the room. The Enderman teleported right after. “I couldn’t find it”
“It might not be important than” her father said. He pushed his daughter out of the house and closed it behind him.
2 weeks later…
(Name) was happy when she finally came back home, from her forced vacation. Those 2 weeks went by slowly and she was counting the days. The vacations stop she went was beautiful, she won’t deny it, but someone was waiting for her and she was eager to see him. She cursed her parents for this.
“That was a great vacation” her mother said. (Name) nodded and walked to her room. She closed her door, grabbed the pearl from her book and called for an Enderman. To her surprise none showed up.
“What the...” She tried again, but again nothing. She got into panic and tried couple of times more. To no avail. “No, no, no, no, no, no. Not now! Shit! I need another way” She left her room and went downstairs.
“Hey, mom. Can I…” Her eyes caught the paper of couple days ago, her father was reading. As head it was written that every portal to the End world is closed by Notch, to prevent the Enderman from getting into the Overworld. “He did what?!”
“Hmm?” her father reacted. He saw (Name) looking at the paper. “Oh. He closed every portal to the End. No Enderman will bother us now” he said, and continue reading. “He did the same thing with the Nether Portals”
“You wanted to ask something, sweetie?”
“I…uh…” She had to think of another way. She was thinking about Victor, but her best choice is her friend, who end up with her guard in her 2 weeks absence. Maybe she can ask him to close an eye as she sneaks away. She has to come up with an excuse though. “Can I sleep over by (BFF Name)?”
“Uh…sure. You have some talk to catch up to”
“Thanks” (Name) hugged her mom and left her house. On her way she was thinking about an excuse. A good excuse even Kyle will approve. Maybe…no, no. Or…no, that won’t work either. She finally got one. Hopefully it gets passed unnoticed. She knock the door and acted casual. It was her friend who opened the door.
“Oh, (Name). I didn’t expected you here”
“I’m sorry I had to come. I need a favor” (Name) walked inside.
“ Your parents again?” her friend asked.
“Hmm…No. Well, kinda. I want to know how it is to live passed the walls. I was wondering…if your guard can give me save passage for tonight” (BFF Name) blinked a couple of times, as she looked at her. She then crossed her arms and smiled at her.
“Are you sure that’s the reason?” (Name) swallowed.
‘Shit! She sees right through me’ There was no way back, if she figured out she’s seeing someone.
“I think it’s something else”
“You just want to build your house in the forest, in case you need to run away” (Name) her heart stopped beating for a while, before a sigh of relief took over her.
“Alright. You got me”
“(Name). You know you can trust me, with anything”
“I know. I was scared you’d be jealous”
“I am, but my parents are chiller than yours. I’ll ask Kyle if he will help you. Do you know he’s fired as a guard?”
“Because of me. Your soon-to-be-husband fired him”
“Don’t say that” (Name) shivered. Jacob is never gonna be her husband. “Wait! Kyle is here?”
“We thought you were Jacob. My parents on vacation, so…” (BFF Name) opened the door to the basement. From the dark Kyle walked into the kitchen.
“Hey, Kyle. I’m sorry about your job”
“Don’t mention it. You need a save passage for tonight?”
“Yes. And many nights to come. I’ll be busy working on a house” (Name) lied. Argh! She hate lying to her friend.
“I’ll help you. I can give you some items to start”
“Thanks” (Name) smiled. She was happy she could see Herobrine. Hopefully it’s not too late. She followed Kyle out of the house and to the wall, where his old position was. Some noob took it over from him and he was already sleeping.
“There is a blind spot by that door. Here’s the key. It’s a copy. You can find a chest on the other side. Take whatever you need. (BFF Name) and I cover for you when your parents are suspicious”
“Thanks, Kyle. You’re a sweetheart” (Name) hugged Kyle and ran to the door. She opened and closed it behind her. From the chest she grabbed the tools, so Kyle doesn’t get suspicious himself, and ran to the open place in the forest. “Please, be there. Please, be there. Please, be there” Tears rolled down her cheeks and she made her way passed the dark oak trees. As she approached the small house, she dropped the tools inside and looked around. Besides some fireflies and wild life, there was no other soul to see. “No! I’m too late! Argh!” (Name) collapsed on her knees and covered her face. She started to cry. He probably think she didn’t care about him. That thought alone broke her heart. Her cries got lost between the trees.
“(Name)” (Name) turned around upon hearing her name.
“Herobrine!” She stood up and ran towards him. The white eyed demon ran up to her as well and caught her as she jumped in his arms. “I’m so sorry. I came I soon as I found a way out”
“Hey, it’s okay. I knew you couldn’t come without an Enderman. I wasn’t going to be mad. We had figured out something” Herobrine said.
“He closed the portals. No Enderman showed up”
“I know. I felt it. Ssht” Herobrine tried to calm her down. “You’re here now” (Name) finally calmed down and dried her eyes. “How did you managed it”
“Lied against my friend. Her boyfriend was a guard and he helped me. I said I wanted to make a house, for as I run away from my parents. They bought it”
“My sneaky rebel” He pulled her close and passionately kissed her. (Name) returned the favor. She missed him in those 2 weeks. “So…” Herobrine began. “How was your vacation?”
“Long. And bored. Ugh. I didn’t even want to go. I would miss you”
“Hey! You’re back now. I wasn’t gonna be mad. Well…I am mad. At Notch and kinda at your parents too. But you here now. Don’t worry. Where did you go?”
“Lapis Blue Paradise. Where the waters are as blue as Lapis Lazuli” (Name) rolled her eyes. “My parents wanted to go to Eden, but that’s a month traveling” “You should visit it. It looks nice, I have heard. Especially after I attacked it last year” Herobrine chuckled. “Ah. Brother wasn’t happy”
“Maybe. If I get permission to leave the city”
“Are you gonna pray to my brother, at his big shrine?” (Name) punched him against his shoulder.
“Who do you think I am? I don’t even pray at the on in my city”
“Auw!” (Name) laughed.
For the next couple of weeks, it went like it used to be. Every night, (Name) sneaks out to see Herobrine. She took material with her for her ‘house’ she was building, so no one will think otherwise. Her friend and Kyle even asked to look how far she was, but she refused. She took a risk, lying against them. She took a greater risk, sneaking out at night, but everything went smoothly in the end. Until one day. Jacob came by the wall for an unexpected guard control. No one was prepared, not even (Name).
“Sleeping on the job?!” she heard Jacob saying, the moment she went through the door.
“Shit! What is he doing here?” She pressed her back to the wall and looked around for another way around.
“J-Jacob! I mean: Sir!”
“Shit! He’s the chief”
“I wasn’t sleeping”
“I saw differently. Speak up!”
“Well…You see…The training I had, y-yesterday…it was none-stop and I haven’t slept well d-during the day”
“The training was too hard for you. You know what’s harder? Defending yourself from mobs without proper training!”
“I u-understand, sir. I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again sir” (Name) had to make a dash for the trees now. Risking it she ran quickly for the trees. She prayed he didn’t saw her. She calmed herself down and walked the way to the open place. She looked behind her, in case he did saw her and followed her. She saw nothing more than wildlife. She arrived and saw Herobrine, apparently training of some sort. He was fighting some spiders and zombies who attacked him. Skeletons were shooting arrows at him at the same time, making it difficult for him. They at least tried, because he could easily avoid everything coming his way. With his diamond pickaxe, he grabbed a zombie and held it as a shield for an incoming arrow.
“What are you doing?” She asked, as she place the tools in the small house.
“You’re gonna attack a city again?”
“Yes. And for when my brother shows up”
“Okay. But…why are you using a pickaxe instead of a sword?”
“I don’t know, actually. It feels easier to use. It can be deadly, you know”
“I doubt that. A sword is better” (Name) said.
“Oh? Can a sword do this?” Herobrine aimed for the trees behind her. A lightning stroke the trees, destroying it.
“You could that with a sword as well. It’s because you’re a God”
“Oh come on. Tell me you were impressed” Herobrine said. (Name) turned around a gaping hole was formed around some trees.
“That is impressive. And what city are you gonna destroy?” She yelled, when she felt he hugged her from behind.
“Yours. I’m coming for my love. I’m gonna save her from the evil villagers” He placed a kiss on her cheek. (Name) laughed.
“Good luck. They doubled the guard, build a second wall, with lava in between them”
“Good to know” Herobrine said. He trailed down her neckline. (Name) felt his warm breath on her sensitive spot. She giggled and moaned by it. “I’ll remember that, when I come for you” (Name) turned around and laid her arms around his neck. Their lips made contact, sharing a kiss of fire, lust and passion. (Name) was completely under his spell. She didn’t care what will happen to her city, to her parents. The only ones who she cared about, were Victor, (BFF Name) and Kyle. If she somehow find a way to get them out of the city, she doesn’t care who died during the attack. At the moment the kiss was what dominated her mind. As well as Herobrine’s hands, as they made their way under her shirt. His cold fingers were trailing her heated back. She arched upon contact.
“Sorry. I have been training while I was waiting for you” Herobrine said. A twig snapped. Both looked up, in the direction of the sound. “Were you followed?”
“Not that I know” Herobrine grabbed his pickaxe and pushed (Name) behind him. He signed the mobs to go around and go look for whatever made that sound. It was quiet now. Herobrine didn’t took any chances and walked straight forward. He jumped up when a deer ran from beyond the tree. It jumped to the other side of the open place, where it disappeared between the trees and snapped a twig on its way.
“It was a deer” (Name) laughed, but also relieved it wasn’t someone else.
“Stupid deer” Herobrine said. “I’m gonna kill it” He grabbed a bow from a skeleton and went after it.
“I should go back. I need my sleep” (Name) sighed. “One day, I leave. I’m just waiting for the perfect opportunity”
“You know, I wasn’t lying when I said I was training to attack your city”
“You don’t say” (Name) laughed. “As much I cannot chance you, there are people that are very dear to me. If they know something happened to me, they will not survive. Neither will I, since I am alive, as they think I’m dead”
“No! Just my friend, her boyfriend and a scholar. Victor. I hate to lie to them, but I want them to be safe” (Name) looked at Herobrine. “I’ll find a way. As long as you wait for me”
“I will always wait for you. Be safe, okay?”
“Weird to hear a demon saying this”
“I’m not a demon. Just a person who really cares for the one he loves” Herobrine kissed her goodbye and watched as she disappeared between the tree. “Training is over” he said and teleported to his mansion. The mobs did go their own way.
As soon she came home, she laid down on her bed and slept through half the day. She went to see Victor and her friend. During the day she could take them to her house, just to let them shut up. The next few weeks were spent like this, although her visits at night became more difficult. Jacob was patrolling the walls. She’s wasn’t sure it was because of her or the mobs coming close to the city again. Herobrine wasn’t mad, and even asked her not to take the risk. He’s such a sweetheart. One day a storm passed over the city. Thunder roared loudly.
“Looks like it’s gonna be a bad one” her father said, looking out of the window. Rain has yet to fall. “You’re crazy if you go through there” (Name) thinks this is the perfect to use to sneak out at night.
“I wanted to ask if I can go to Victor” (Name) said, when she said down.
“I’m sorry, honey. Jacob wanted to come over” her mother said. She sounded very quiet.
“Are you okay, mom?” Her mother shook her head.
“We are organizing the wedding sooner than planned?”
“What?! What do you mean?!”
“Jacob said something happened, where he need to leave the city. He wanted you to go with him, but as his wife”
“You can’t be serious?!” (Name) stood up, knocking over the chair.
“I don’t want any backtalk, young lady!” her father said. “You had chance to choose. Now we did it for you!” (Name) looked at her mother. She looked at her daughter, with a sad, broken smile.
“It’s gonna be alright. Jacob is good guy”
“No! You can’t do this to me! I don’t love him! You can’t force me!”
“(Name)! You will do what we say! This is for your own good! Your rebellious behavior needs to stop! Jacob is gonna make sure of that!”
“No! I refuse!” She ran to her room. With force she slammed her door shut. She was shaking, tears felt like rain on the floor, and she almost pulled her hair out from frustration. “They can do this to me! They can’t force me!” She yelled in frustration. “It wasn’t a deer that we heard. It was Jacob! He fucking followed me. He knows” A panic attack took over. “I hope Herobrine’s okay” She looked around. “I have to go to him!” She grabbed her backpack and started to grab her things. Along she grabbed the Enderpearl. Maybe one is still in the Overworld. Herobrine will not be at their place, so an Enderman had to bring her to his mansion. She was panicking, she will forget something, she looked at what she has a couple of times. She lost valuable time.
“Jacob. It’s good to see you” (Name) looked up.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit!”
“She’s upstairs. She’s…”
“I understand. Maybe this is not a good idea”
“No! She will listen to us. Don’t worry. I’ll make sure of it” (Name) heard her father walking up the stairs. She opened her window and made her way down. “(Name)! Come back!” her father yelled from her open window. She ignored him and ran to the first person she’s gonna tell. Victor. She literally stormed inside.
“(Name)? What are you doing here?” Victor saw she was shaking and she had her backpack with her. “Are you…”
“Calm down, dear”
“I can’t! I need to leave!”
“You can’t possible survive out there. Where are you going?”
“Next city, Eden. I don’t care! I need to get away from here!” Victor sighed. She was in total shock. He walked to the back of his house and came back with some items.
“Here. It’s not much, but it will help you survive until you reach the next city. Grab some food too. You’ll need” He handed her an enchanted iron sword, a bow and a quiver with arrows. “I’m sure you know how to make new tools, if you need some”
“Victor! I can’t take this. You need this too” Truth to be told, she didn’t needed it.
“Just take it. You’ll thank me later. Now go. Use the back door. They will be on their way here” (Name) hugged, Victor, grabbed some food and left the house. She heard Jacob knocking on the front door. This gave her a change to ran to her friend’s house. She knocked and knocked, until someone opened it.
“(Name)!” her friend said. “What’s wrong?” (Name) only shook her head. (BFF Name) sighed. “You’re going, aren’t you?”
“You wanne come inside?”
“No. I need to go now. I wanne be ahead of the storm” (Name) looked in the sky. It was getting dark, because of the clouds. “Listen. You might gonna hear things from Jacob, when I’m gone. It’s true, but I followed my heart. Know that. I take the consequences”
“You what? (Name)! Please! Tell me what’s going on?! You can tell me everything”
“I’m afraid not this. Be careful” (Name) hugged her friend and ran for the secret door. Luckily it wasn’t blocked off yet. The moment she went through it, she heard Jacob at the gate.
“Get her!” (Name) ran towards the forest. “(Name)! Stop! Now!” Jacob and his army were right behind her. She grabbed the Enderpearl and prayed one could come for her.
“I need you, Enderman! Please, come and get me!” Thunder roared loudly. “Please! I need you!” Nothing. It started to rain also. “No!”
“Leave me alone!” She had no idea where she was going and got lost easily. Without stopping, she went every direction to lose her chasers. She heard an explosion behind her. The mobs were trying to stop them.
“Run!” a spider said. He got killed by Jacob. A skeleton pulled her with him.
“I can get you to his mansion. This way! I know where we can get a horse” he said. He fired an arrow at Jacob. He didn’t slowed down.
“You’re dead, (Name)! Everyone like him is dead!” (Name) started to cry.
“This can be happening!”
“Don’t panic! It will slow you down” The skeleton pulled her onto a path, that lead to a ravine and a bridge. It looked dangerous to cross it. She had no other choice. She tried to cross as fast as she could. The skeleton protected her, for Jacob. He failed, however, and Jacob killed him. (Name) went faster.
“Leave me alone! Please!”
“Not a chance, witch!” (Name) safely made it across. She grabbed her sword and cut the rope of the bridge. Jacob held himself firmly.
“Don’t you dare!” Determined for his death, she cut the other rope. The bridge started to fall. Along with Jacob, who still held tightly to it. “You can’t escape, witch! We will find you!” (Name) turned her back to him and ran away. Now she needs to find the mansion on her own.
“A horse!” She saw a black horse, in diamond armor, tied up to a lantern. A guard, from another city, was flirting with some local girls, who were shielding from the rain under his shield.
“And that’s when I said: I went to Eden! It isn’t ready for you yet!” The girls giggled, clearly enjoying his story. (Name) jumped onto the horse, untied it and drove away. “Hey! My horse!” (Name) ignored him and lead the horse…somewhere.
‘I don’t know where I need to go!’ (Name) started to cry again. “This is all my fault” She looked behind her. “I can’t go back now! I won’t go back!” The thunder roar again. “I have to follow my heart”
The nights and days came unnoticed. The storm wasn’t gone yet and it looked like it will rage one for weeks to come. She doesn’t know how long she was on the road. The horse became exhausted, so she had to throw away the armor, making it easier for it, and had to stop several times to catch up on sleep.
“Here” (Name) said and gave it some apples to eat. “I’m sorry” The horse nodded its headed, as a thanks and ate the apples. “I need to go to a mansion. It has to be here somewhere. Do you know where it is?” (Name) prayed this would work. The horse nodded towards east and lead the way. “Thanks” She walked next to it, the lead in her hand. Some minutes later, she saw light glooming between the trees. She could see the top of a mansion peaking above the trees. (Name) felt happiness overwhelming her. She collapsed upon the ground. The horse made sounds to alert someone. A couple of skeletons came towards it.
“It’s her! What is she doing here?! How did she get her?!”
“Let’s get her inside! Get the Master!” One skeleton ran towards the mansion. One grabbed (Name) by her arm and held her up. The last one took the horse.
“What are you doing here?”
“Herobrine! I need…to see him”
“Easy! You’re tired, you’re soaked and probably sick. Let’s get inside first and get you dry” The horse went to the stable and the skeleton helped (Name) up the stairs and inside. She felt the warmth on her tired body. “Get some towels” the skeleton yelled. A Creeper came minutes later with towels on his head.
“What happened?” he asked.
“I don’t know. Where is the Master”
“In his study. He didn’t wanted to get disturbed” the Creeper said. (Name) shivered. The mobs surrounded her, all concerned what happened.
“(Name)!” (Name) looked behind her.
“Herobrine!” She stood up and ran towards him.
“You’re soaked! What happened?!” (Name) only cried in his chest. “Ssht! Calmed down!” Herobrine looked at the mobs.
“We don’t know much either, boss” a skeleton said. “We found her outside”
“Go to the city and find out what happened! I’ll stay here with her” The mobs nodded and left the house. Herobrine then picked her up and carried her upstairs. “Get some rest”
“You…look worried” Herobrine was about to cry. For the first time in his immortal life he was about to cry. (Name) dosed off.
“I’m more than worried, (Name)” He was angry. Something happened. And that something is in that city. “I will find out. And put an end to it!”
